Women Artists and Gender Roles

The 19th-century art world was dominated by men, and women were not admitted to the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Focusing on the Modern Breakthrough, this learning programme explores women artists of the period, including Anna Ancher, Bertha Wegmann and Agnes Slott-Møller, all of whom were actively involved in the struggle to improve women artists’ rights and opportunities.
